From 15 to 17 April 2026, the SUBMERSE project held its final event at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, bringing together consortium partners, scientific communities, infrastructure operators and industry representatives to share results and discuss the future of underwater fibre-optic sensing.

The University Corporation for Internet Development (CUDI) and the European Network of Research and Innovation Centres and Hubs in Latin America and the Caribbean (ENRICH LAC) have formalised an agreement aimed at strengthening multilateral cooperation in the fields of research, science, technology, innovation and entrepreneurship between Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean.
In March 2026, the European SPIDER project released the document “Pathways for the Exploitation of the BELLA Infrastructure”, a Position Paper presenting recommendations and priority areas to promote the strategic use of the digital connectivity linking Europe with Latin America and the Caribbean, now enhanced by the BELLAII project.

The official publication of the 3rd Ibero-American Symposium on Blockchain and Cybersecurity is now available for download online. The event took place on 20 and 21 November 2025 in Santiago, Chile, at the headquarters of ECLAC and the Institute of International Studies at the University of Chile.
With over 8,000 participants from more than 100 countries, the participation of Ecuador’s national research and education network at the NAFSA Conference will raise the profile of Ecuadorian academia and foster direct connections with decision-makers, universities and international peers.
