Professionals from Latin America will be able to apply for the revamped Internet Society Fellowship Programme

In 2027, 90 fellows will be selected to carry out projects in connectivity, internet policy and digital security, with access to specialised training, mentoring and funding of up to USD 5,000.

The Internet Society (ISOC) has launched a new version of its Fellowship Programme, an initiative aimed at strengthening the capabilities of professionals and leaders committed to developing a more open, secure and inclusive Internet. The programme will combine specialised training, mentoring, financial support for projects and access to global collaboration networks.

The 90 fellows to be selected in 2027 will be required to work for 10 months on projects with a local impact, which may take the form of research, public policy proposals, training programmes, community initiatives or technical roll-outs, linked to three strategic areas: Internet policy and advocacy, connectivity and digital security. As part of the programme, participants will have access to personalised mentoring, support to attend international events and funding of up to USD 5,000 to implement their initiatives.

Applications for the preparatory phase of the programme are now open. Those interested must complete a preliminary training process before formally applying for the fellowship.

In 2018, RedCLARA and the Internet Society formalised their ongoing cooperation through a Memorandum of Understanding, which strengthens collaboration between the two organisations on training activities, workshops, conferences and projects aimed at enhancing the development and security of the Internet in the region.
