CITEL/OAS
During October 4, 2019, RedCLARA was accepted as an associate member of the Permanent Consultative Committee I: Telecommunications / Information and Communications Technologies (PCC.I) of the Inter-American Communications Commission, CITEL.
The Inter-American Telecommunications Commission (CITEL) is an entity of the Organization of American States (OAS), established by the General Assembly, in accordance with Article 53 of the Charter of the Organization. Its mission is to facilitate and promote the integral and sustainable development of interoperable, innovative and reliable telecommunications / information and technology (ICT) technologies in the Americas, under the principles of universality, equity and affordability.
CITEL's vision is the full integration of the American States in the world information society, in order to allow and accelerate the social, economic and environmentally sustainable development for all the inhabitants of the region through the development of telecommunications / ICT.
The objective of PCC.I, of which RedCLARA is a member, is: “Promote debate, cooperation and regional coordination in matters related to policies, development and standardization of telecommunications / information and communication technologies (ICT), with a view to improving social, economic, cultural and environmental development in the Americas, and contributing to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development”.
