TICAL Conference

Since the beginning of 2011, the Network of Directors of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) of Latin American Universities has been consolidating a common space of action that aims to contribute to the issues related to their role and work within the institutions as well as to the continuous improvement of higher education institutions. The TICAL Conference is the space where this community comes together, which is mainly nourished by the experiences, initiatives, and knowledge presented by the universities themselves, providing significant and unprecedented solutions in higher education institutions from the ICT area, in the fields of university work.

In 2024, the 13th edition of the TICAL Conference, under the theme "Connecting Knowledge: AI and Data as Catalysts for Academic and Social Transformation," successfully concluded in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, bringing together nearly 200 participants from Latin America, the Caribbean, and Europe. The event, held from December 3 to 5, was organized by RedCLARA, the BELLA II project, and Brazil's National Research and Education Network (NREN), RNP. It also received support from prominent sponsors driving digital innovation in the region: NOKIA, Calriz, Ruckus, SheerID, Q13, and the Escola Superior de Redes.
