The executive director of RedCLARA, Luis Eliécer Cadenas and the CFO of the Latin American network, Mark Urban, visited the RedIRIS facilities in Madrid at the beginning of December, accompanied by the director of the Spanish academic and research network, Alberto Pérez Gómez, and of a part of his team.

On 12/15, the technical manager of the Latin American Cooperation for Advanced Networks (RedCLARA), Marco Teixeira, was appointed to a leadership position in the Global Network Advancement Group (GNA-G), with a four-year term. The GNA-G is an international community of academic networks that aims to make interconnections between continents more efficient for global scientific collaborations and transnational education.

One of the founders of RedCLARA, the Salvadoran and father of the implementation of the national research and education network of his country in the first decade of the 21st century, Rafael Ibarra -Lito, for his friends and the netizen world- was included in this reputed and select group this December 14, 2021.

This high-level online event will showcase the impact of digital solutions and promote a human-centric model of digital transformation through contributions by the EU Commissioner for International Partnerships, Jutta Urpilainen, the Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), Alicia Bárcena, Secretary of State of Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Stanislav Raščan, as well as many other high-level speakers as the Executive Director of RedCLARA, Luis Eliécer Cadenas.

More than 20 masters and doctoral students from member institutions of RedCLARA's member national networks are meeting virtually between Monday 6 and Saturday 11 December, on the occasion of SC-Camp 2021, a week of training organized by the network regional, SCALAC and the Industrial University of Santander (UIS Colombia), with an emphasis on high-performance and distributed computing.
