29 April, Join us!: Regional webinar on healthcare “AI versus data standards”

Caption

According to GEMINI, “The relationship between Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data standards is not one of mutual exclusion, but rather a critical symbiosis in which the quality and structure of the data determine the success of AI”, and this is echoed by all AI systems in operation today. The fact is that AI now affects virtually every area of human endeavour. That is why the Latin American and Caribbean University Telemedicine Network (RUTE-ALC) is organising this webinar, which you shouldn’t miss. Register and take part for free.

Digital health in the region is at a critical juncture where it is imperative to move from the creation of isolated local projects towards the consolidation of a National Portfolio of shared projects and tools, based on technical, academic and operational evidence.

In this scenario, interoperability is an essential starting point for consolidating Digital Health and its approach to the rational use of data to improve clinical decisions. The adoption of digital standards has been complex, but AI is emerging as a disruptive tool capable of transforming unstructured or ‘dark’ data into strategic assets, as well as ‘translating’ clinical-IT languages and organisational requirements, whilst also addressing the ethical challenges of these technologies. This combination could provide the order, predictability and “data contracts” necessary for information to be exchanged without technical or semantic friction.

The aim of the webinar is to invite attendees to participate in the creation and validation of reusable and scalable regulatory or technological tools in the region.

The webinar will be moderated by Dr Mahuina Campos Castolo, Health Community Coordinator at CUDI Mexico, and the following specialists will participate according to the agenda:

15 minutes - Styp Bill Roy Canto Rondón, Engineer – Chair of the Board at HL7 Peru. The effects of AI on the development and implementation of healthcare standards.

15 minutes - César Galindo - Chair of the Board at HL7 Chile.

20 minutes - Questions, Answers and Discussion.

Opening of Mentimeter for co-design of the proposal.
