August 11–15: AmeriGEO Week 2025 to be held in Bogotá, Colombia

AmeriGEO Week 2025, under the theme “Earth Intelligence for a Sustainable Future,” will take place from August 11 to 15 in Bogotá, Colombia, hosted by the National University of Colombia (UNAL). This international event will bring together representatives from governments, space agencies, scientific institutions, and regional networks to strengthen cooperation in the use of Earth observations to address social, environmental, and economic challenges across the Americas.

Organized by the Agustín Codazzi Geographic Institute (IGAC), the event will feature participants from the 21 countries in the Americas that actively take part in the Group on Earth Observations (GEO).

RedCLARA will contribute to the program with a presentation on Friday, August 15. The session will be held in person and streamed live on social media platforms, expanding its reach to a broader audience.

Titled “Data-Driven Environmental Intelligence: The Strategic Role of RedCLARA, Academic Networks, and Copernicus Use Cases,” the presentation will highlight the key role of academic networks in leveraging data for environmental decision-making. It will include real-world examples of how the European Copernicus program has been applied in Latin America, as well as contributions from the BELLA II project. BELLA II promotes innovation in shared digital infrastructure, strengthens synergies among key stakeholders, and provides services that fuel the regional open science ecosystem. The talk will also emphasize the need to advance toward meaningful, people-centered connectivity.

The full event agenda and registration form for this session are available on the official website: https://www.igac.gov.co/semana-amerigeo-2025
