RUTE-ALC Webinar, July 30: Advancing Digital Health Policies in LAC with Global Support
As part of the 2025 meeting calendar of the University Telemedicine Network for Latin America and the Caribbean (RUTE-ALC), the next session of the Digital Health SIG will take place on Tuesday, July 30. This session will focus on the role of international organizations in strengthening digital health policies across the region.
The panel will present collaborative strategies to enhance regional governance and policy harmonization, drawing on experiences and best practices promoted by key organizations such as PAHO, WHO, IDB, World Bank, OAS, and OEI. These entities play a crucial role by offering technical, financial, and strategic support, fostering cooperation between countries, and facilitating the adoption of standards that ensure the interoperability and security of health systems.
The session will be moderated by Dr. Mahuina Campos from the Department of Digital Health at UNAM (Mexico) and will feature the participation of Dr. José Enrique Pérez Olguín, Director General for Health Sector Modernization at Mexico's Ministry of Health, and Dr. José Enrique Pérez Lu, Director General of the Information Technology Office at Peru’s Ministry of Health.
