April 9: Health Data Governance in Latin America and the Caribbean – RUTE-ALC Session

Health data governance is essential to ensuring the quality, security, and privacy of information in the healthcare sector. To explore this topic, the Latin American and Caribbean University Telemedicine Network (RUTE-ALC), through its Special Interest Group on Digital Health, will host a session on April 9 at 15:00 GMT.

The panel will feature distinguished health experts, including Dr. Orlando Cerón from the Faculty of Medicine at UNAM, Mexico; Dr. Marina Vicario from Red Late, Mexico; Dr. María José Gamboa, a digital health consultant from Chile; and Rosa Matarrita from the Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS). The specialists will discuss best practices and necessary frameworks for effective health data management in the region.

Topics will include process standardization, system interoperability, and the protection of sensitive data. Additionally, the session will examine how the implementation of robust policies and the use of advanced technologies can optimize data management and strengthen trust between patients and healthcare professionals.

Prior registration is required through the platform: https://rcc.rnp.br/RUTE-ALC/aovivo. For more details on the registration process and other session information, visit: https://ajuda.rnp.br/rcc/login.
