March 12: RUTE-ALC Kicks off its Virtual Meeting Series with a Session on "Cybersecurity in Health"

The Latin American and Caribbean University Telemedicine Network (RUTE-ALC) will begin its 2025 virtual meeting series on March 12 at 15:00 UTC, which corresponds to 10:00 AM (Central America), 12:00 PM (Ecuador, Colombia, and Peru), and 2:00 PM (Brazil). The topic of the first session will be "Cybersecurity in Health: Protecting Data and Critical Systems."

In this first session, Yuri Alexandro Ferreira, Data Protection Officer (DPO) of RNP Brazil, will moderate, joined by Ivan Tasso Benevides, Security Operations Manager at RNP, and Adriana Abad, representative of the Ministry of Public Health of Ecuador (MSP), who will discuss the growing digital threats in the healthcare sector and strategies to protect personal data and medical systems.

RUTE-ALC is a collaborative initiative between academic networks in Latin America and the Caribbean that aims to promote scientific and educational cooperation in the fields of telemedicine and digital health. Its members include CEDIA (Ecuador), CUDI (Mexico), RENATA (Colombia), REUNA (Chile), RNP (Brazil), and RedCONARE (Costa Rica). Through its partnership with RedCLARA, they facilitate knowledge exchange and the development of joint projects in the region.
