The Latin American Cooperation of Advanced Networks (RedCLARA) and the Advanced Computing System of Latin America and the Caribbean (SCALAC), signed, on September 26, 2019, in Turrialba, Costa Rica, within the framework of the Latin American High Performance Computing Conference (CARLA2019), a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in which they commit to establish cooperation guidelines with the aim of enhancing access to high performance computing  (HPC) resources in the region.

Eleven people from six countries around the world, including Michael Stanton, network scientist and former director of the Brazilian advanced network RNP, José Soriano, Internet pioneer in Peru, and Klaas Wierenga, creator of eduroam, have been included in the Internet Hall of Fame for its pioneering and visionary contributions to the growth, access and global security of the Internet.*
