For the first time, the Directors of Technology of the Latin American universities are gathered in one place to discuss about the most relevant elements of their work, common challenges and the future of ICT in higher education institutions. The Conference TICAL 2011 started today in Panama.

From 6 to 10 June 2011, RedCLARA team members Luis Furlan, Chairman of the Board, Luis Nunez, Manager of Academic Relations, and Carmen Gloria Labbé, Director of Innovation and Development along with representatives of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and the Latin American Forum of Telecommunications Regulators (REGULATEL), participated in meetings organized by the European Commission in Brussels.

On June 16, the distance between Brazil and Spain will be shorter because of the telematics dance performance e-Pormundos Afeto, where art and technology will gather to create a presentation synchronized with dancers from both countries. The exhibition is part of the Network performing arts production workshop coordinated by Internet2, the national research and education network of the United States and TERENA, the Trans-European association of research and education networks.
