Guatemalan Advanced Network Research and Education (RAGIE) supported the Paraguayan ARANDU network, to offer a connection test at high speed during the execution of an important event, which brought together researchers, teachers and students from Universities and Research Centers American.

ARANDU was presented last month at the Virtual Educa Cono Sur Paraguay, an event that aims to involve teachers in the task of adapting the school to the realities of the XXI century and became an important window to give understand the benefits of advanced networks.

The project "Regional Strategy and Interoperability and Management Framework for a Latin American Federated Network of Institutional Repositories for Scientific Documentation" calls for proposals for the Consultancy for the design of the website of the Project and the Federated Network. The announcement, open until December 13 2010 is aimed at professionals graduates in Social Communication, Journalism, and Systems Engineering, Electronic Engineering or related field. It will be better qualified those candidates with a Master's degree or/and any Specialization.

Case Study

Three Colombian universities working on a project for the dissemination of biological data on the network using RENATA infrastructure. The initiative seeks to be a support to environmental education, scientific research and biodiversity conservation.

This initiative represents an opportunity for administrators, developers and users in general for training and experience in the use of IPv6. The prizes of the call include a scholarship to attend the next LACNIC event in mid-2011 and the participation in a networking workshop at the next meeting of the Mexican network.
