Brussels, Belgium, will be the hosting city for important events in July: It will be the venue of the EU-CELAC Summit of Heads of State and Government (July 17 and 18), the place where the European Union and Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) will reaffirm their Digital Alliance, as a strategic framework to foster bi-regional cooperation across the full spectrum of digital issues, and home to the first BELLA II Strategic Dialogue in 2023.

The “BELLA Hackathon: Copernicus Innovation Development” began with the participation of 53 research groups from Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean. The activity is organized by RedCLARA and the BELLA II project, with the aim of promoting the use of data from the observation program of the Earth of the European Union (EU), Copernicus, in both regions.

A cooperation agreement focus on promoting technological standards that improve the quality of services in cities, countries, or regions, based on transparency, best practices, and citizen participation, is the focus of the cooperation agreement signed by RedCLARA and FIWARE Foundation, in the framework of the "9th FIWARE Global Summit", held in June in Vienna (Austria).

In a session attended by representatives of several countries of the Regional Online Information System for Scientific Journals of Latin America, the Caribbean, Spain, and Portugal (Latindex) and National Reference Nodes of LA Refrencia, the organisations signed and launched the Framework Collaboration Agreement that aims to consolidate a Regional Open Science Ecosystem.
