Call for Applications: “RNEI México 2026” Awards for Excellence

The University Corporation for Internet Development (CUDI) hereby issues this call for applications for the “RNEI México 2026” Award for Excellence, open to higher education and upper secondary education institutions, the academic and research community, and to communities that have carried out impactful projects to promote scientific development through the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) and computer systems within the Mexican academic sector.

(Source: CUDI) Members of the CUDI community are eligible to participate: communities, researchers, lecturers, students, developers, professionals and consultants with shared interests who utilise the National Education and Research Network (RNEI) to collaborate on academic, research and technological development projects, with the aim of synergistically promoting solutions to problems and strategic issues for the country’s educational development.

Categories:

• Educational innovation: Projects seeking to improve teaching and learning processes through emerging technologies.
• Science communication: Projects promoting the communication of science to society.
• Academic entrepreneurship: Projects seeking to transform research results into commercial products or services.
• International collaboration: Research carried out in collaboration with foreign institutions.
• Applied research with social impact: Projects that focus on the practical application of knowledge acquired in the sciences or technologies to solve real-world problems or address specific societal needs; this may include improvements in areas such as health, education, the economy, the environment, social inclusion and access to basic services, amongst others.
• Technological innovation: Projects proposing novel or improved solutions through the use of advanced technologies; these may cover various technological fields, such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, biotechnology, nanotechnology, the Internet of Things (IoT), big data, cybersecurity, blockchain, robotics, information and communication technologies (ICT), and data centres. Applicants must specify the TRL level.

Key dates

• Start of application period: 25 June 2026.
• Deadline for submission of applications: 28 August 2026.
• Notification to leaders of selected projects: 30 September 2026.
• Announcement of winners: 6 October 2026.
