Join the second free webinar of the Cyberbridges series on cybersecurity culture in research networks
The Cyberbridges Series: Connecting the Americas for a Safer Research Future will hold its second meeting on October 21. This free webinar is an initiative organized by RedCLARA, with the participation of LAC4, and it is part of the activities for Cybersecurity Month 2025.
The presentation for this session will be delivered by Iris Palma, an economist with an MBA in Technology and a master's in International Cooperation, an expert in digital policies, and the co-founder of NextLatam. Palma will address the topic, “Cybersecurity Culture in Research Networks: From Knowledge to Action,” focusing on how to strengthen institutional resilience and foster a cybersecurity culture in the academic environment.
The goal of the webinar is to make people more aware of new digital threats like social engineering and artificial intelligence, as well as to encourage best practices and regional cooperation to better protect data and systems.
The series will continue on November 4 with the session “Fireside Chat with Dameion Brown: Zero Trust and Cybersecurity Collaborations,” led by Internet2. In this talk, Dameion Brown, Chief Information Security Officer at Jackson State University, will share experiences on Zero Trust strategies and cybersecurity collaborations that strengthen safer and more resilient academic communities.
All sessions offer simultaneous interpretation in Spanish, English, French, and Portuguese and aim to strengthen a regional network committed to trust, cooperation, and digital security.
