17 June: Join the RUTE-ALC webinar on One Health and climate change in Latin America and the Caribbean

The academic and scientific communities linked to RedCLARA’s National Research and Education Networks (NRENs), as well as professionals, health managers, regional GIS coordinators and institutions interested in cooperation on Digital Health, are invited to participate in the RUTE-ALC webinar “Human, animal and environmental health – One Health and climate change in the context of Latin America and the Caribbean”. Wednesday 17 June | 9:00 am Mexico and Costa Rica, 10:00 am Colombia and Ecuador, 11:00 am Chile, 12:00 pm Brazil | RCC Platform.
The 90-minute event will bring together specialists from the region to reflect on the One Health vision—an approach that integrates human, animal and environmental health—and its relevance in addressing the health, social and environmental challenges facing Latin America and the Caribbean. The meeting will also address the impacts of climate change on public health, including the rise in vector-borne diseases, respiratory and cardiovascular problems, and the need to move towards resilient, sustainable and integrated health systems.
The panel will be moderated by Crista Ureña, from CeNAT, Costa Rica, and will feature Dr Andrea Chaves, Director of CENIBiot-CeNAT, Costa Rica, and Prof. Diego Soler-Tovar, Assistant Professor and Senior Researcher at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, La Salle University, Colombia.
During the session, the main obstacles to the implementation of One Health in the region will be discussed, including the lack of cross-sectoral coordination, infrastructure gaps and the need for integrated public policies. Strategies to strengthen collaboration between governments, international organisations, academic institutions and local communities will also be shared.
The webinar will take place on Wednesday 17 June and can be followed live via the RCC platform. To access the event, prior registration on the platform is required; a single registration allows participation in all sessions of the series.

RedCLARA invites its member networks and all those interested in the relationship between health, the environment, climate change and regional cooperation to join this space for dialogue, the exchange of experiences and the collective development of solutions for a more resilient and sustainable Latin America and the Caribbean.
