From 3 September to 17 October, LA-CoNGA Physics will hold the course ‘Astroparticles and Cosmology’, aimed at graduate students from Latin America and the Caribbean who seek to deepen their knowledge on these topics.

On Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at 17:30 CEST (9:30 AM in Central America, 10:30 AM in Colombia and Mexico City), the second Spanish-language webinar on the Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem (CDSE) will take place, organized by the EU Space Support Office (EUSSO). Titled "Advanced Use of the Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem (CDSE)—Practical Demonstration," this event will feature Roberto Matellanes, a GIS and Copernicus expert from EUSSO, who will guide attendees through the advanced features of the Copernicus Browser.

This course aims to strengthen capacities in data management under the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable). It seeks to put into practice the knowledge gained on data management and administration techniques using real repositories provided by the participants themselves. This training is the second in a series of three, continuing the course "The Role of Data in Open Science."

Internet2 announces the opening of the call for proposals for the Internet2 Community Exchange 2025, the event that brings together the global research and education community to foster knowledge sharing, enhance collaboration, and explore technological innovations. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in knowledge exchange with peers who offer a diverse range of perspectives and expertise.

LACNIC announces the opening of registration for participation in the LACNIC 42 LACNOG 2024 meeting, which will be held in hybrid format from October 7 to 11, 2024. The face-to-face event will take place in Asunción, Paraguay, at the Conmebol Convention Center.

The Copernicus Panama Centre will host the First CopernicusLAC 2024 Hackathon, which will take place from October 11 to October 30, 2024. The main goal of this event is to stimulate creativity and collaboration in the use of Earth observation data in the region. It aims to promote innovation, develop technical skills, foster regional cooperation, and highlight how satellite data can address environmental and socio-economic challenges.
