LA Referencia Project is pleased to present the 2nd Special Edition "The results of a regional network", which summarizes the national effort made by nine countries to create repositories collectors that can scale to a regional model.

Summary:
One of the biggest challenges of LA Referencia was to start gathering records and data collected in repositories with different criteria in nine countries, reaching a fertile and homogeneous space that allows to present once again the national information to other centralized services, in a larger scale. For this, the most effective fertilizer was to standardize the way data are presented, in order to fulfill the established international protocols. Nine countries, eighteen institutions and a team composed of more than forty engineers and managers that have coped with the technical and organizational requirements to start a regional pilot.
