General objective: TANDEM aims at supporting the dialogue between the EU and National Research and Educational Networks (NRENs) from Africa with special attention to Western and Central Africa.
Participants: IRD - Institut de Recherche pour le Développement (France), West & Central African Research and Education Network (Ghana), GÉANT (UK), Groupement d’Intérêt Public pour le Réseau National de Communications pour la Technologie, l’Enseignement et la Recherche (France), Centre de Coopération International en Recherche Agronomique pour le Développement (France), Sigma Orionis (France), Brunel University London (UK), UbuntuNet Alliance for Research & Education Network (Malawi), Cooperación LatinoAmericana de Redes Avanzadas - RedCLARA (Uruguay).
Objectives:

Obtain political and financial support for WACREN (West and Central African Research and Education Network) for the network implementation and ensure its sustainability.

Raise awareness among the researchers and academic users of e-Infrastructures services about the benefits of NREN services.

Collect the needs of the End Users (researchers and academic users) of e-Infrastructures services and identify services tailored to their requirements.

Elaborate a roadmap to meet the needs of End Users and taking into account policy, financial, regulatory and technical constraints.

Develop and strengthen the NREN community.
