The National Academic Network of Advanced Technology of Colombia (RENATA), the Embassy of Canada in Colombia and the Colombian Association of Universities, ASCUN, invite the heads of international relations offices in the country and throughout Latin America to participate in the workshop "Emerging Leaders of the Americas Program (ELAP)", which will take place on February 9 at 4:00 p.m. GMT (11:00 a.m. Bogotá).

The Government of Canada announced the "Emerging Leaders of the Americas Program" in 2009 to support the development of human capital and the next generation of leaders in the Americas while strengthening ties between post-secondary institutions in Canada and the Americas. These scholarships provide students from post-secondary institutions located in Latin America and the Caribbean with short-term exchange opportunities to study or research at Canadian post-secondary institutions. The Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program is a Short-Term Exchange Program under the Canada Global Affairs International Scholarship Program.

During the workshop, the attendees will learn about the agreements that ASCUN has with Canadian institutions to facilitate the relationship between the participating institutions.
