SIVIC, the first service implemented by RedCLARA in collaboration with Latin American National Research and Education Networks (NREN), incorporates multipoint videoconference units in order to maximise the interaction of the research community and regional development. SIVIC will enable, in one single space, the organisation of videoconferences in different countries, allowing all participants to book their own videoconference rooms in the region.
In SIVIC your transnational videoconferences will be highly effective interactive communication experiences.
More Network, Better Videoconferences: RedCLARA and the NREN offer the strongest and most far-reaching infrastructure for the conduction of videoconferences. SIVIC has been conceived for the academic community, which is very demanding since their contacts force them to travel to hold meetings with colleagues, partners or collaborators who are located in different parts of Latin America and the rest of the world.
More Science, More Meetings, Less Costs: Organising a face-to-face meeting with many participants can be very expensive if air travel is involved, while organising videoconferences through RedCLARA or any of the NREN connected to it, reduces the need to travel, ensuring immediate communication and increasing productivity.
Narrowing the gap: Maximise the use of H.323 equipment in your institution. Encourage your users and members of the academic community to participate in videoconferences at a local and international level. Through SIVIC your users will be able to get information about events regionally to be developed over RedCLARA or through the NREN connected to it, and participate in them together with the wider Latin American academic community.
More network, More MCU: SIVIC owns the first MCU collaborative cluster in Latin America: four countries share here their MCU’s ports, guaranteeing the availability of up to 50 simultaneous standard connection points and ten High Definition connection points.
Security and efficiency: Through SIVIC your videoconference administrators or coordinators (COVI) will be able to manage users and allocate access profiles for the different videoconference resources in your institution. With the support of the VNOC (Videoconference Network Operation Centre), the COVI will be able to certify the quality of videoconference rooms and define, together with the VNOC, the necessary routing and threading strategies to achieve high quality videoconferences.
With SIVIC your users will be able to book virtual videoconference rooms especially designed to enable the connection of mobile points, and also book certified videoconference rooms which guarantee the best possible audio and video quality.
Booking system: SAR, the SIVIC Authorised Booking System is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year through the link http://sivic.redclara.net. SAR will enable users in your institution to book certified videoconference rooms to organise their online meetings and events with better quality. SIVIC guarantees an effective bookings management and the appropriate use of rooms according to the usage policies of each institution. Through this system users will also be able to send invitations to third parties and make the activity public, thus increasing the event’s visibility.
Come and join SIVIC now! Do it through the videoconference portal of your NREN or at http://sivic.redclara.net or through the access in our Portal, following registration, to online collaboration spaces for Latin American research communities.
