This is the ninth year that LACLO, the Latin-American community of objects and learning technologies, calls on educational and learning technologies researchers, educational administrators, teachers and people interested in the development of educational technology in the region, to participate in the Latin American Congress of objects and learning technologies (LACLO 2014). This year, the event is organized for the first time in Colombia by Universidad Nacional, from 20 to 24 October in the beautiful city of Manizales, in the coffee region.

The main objectives of the Conference this year will be the discussion of existing experiences in the region about new educational technologies, carry out discussions about the impact that these technologies can have on our education systems and make proposals of how Latin America can help with global thinking about these technologies.

In addition to the presentation of papers, it will feature lectures by international experts, there will be tutorials and workshops on emerging topics and will carry out extended LACLO annual meeting, as well as those of other existing groups within the community. In addition, as it is tradition in this Conference, there will be a contest of learning objects with the theme of education for peace.
