COMCLARA2010: Publication of results(14/05/2010) • The results of COMCLARA2010 call are already available. This call attracted the interest of 32 Latin American communities which presented their background to be considered in the process. Congratulations to all new communities who will be supported by CLARA on 2010. Having available money to finance a larger community of which were offered in the call, it has been determined to declared winner the community "Education and Research", which received scores of evaluation in the order of merit. Therefore, it has been added to the list of winners of the competition COMCLARA2010 communities.See the list of accepted communities HERE.

The project Latin America Interconnected with Europe (ALICE2) through the programme, CLARA Communities, version 2010 (COMCLARA2010) offers researchers of the institutions connected to National Research and Education Networks (NREN) partners to CLARA (Latin American Cooperation of Advanced Networks), the opportunity to strengthen their working ties in the field of their research interests, strengthening their relations and using telecommunications and computing resources that can be used through RedCLARA, CLARA’s Advanced Internet Network. This programme is called COMCLARA2010 (by CLARA Communities, version 2010).
The communities of researchers, who accept this invitation and are eligible to meet the requirements given below, may receive the following CLARA support in the context of the ALICE2 project:
The part time recruitment, for one year, of one of the members of the community (can also be a doctoral student, a highly motivated young researcher, etc.), to be call as "coordinator" that performs tasks of coordination, mobilization and internal coordination among its members (for the various activities that the community decides to make relations with CLARA, finding sources of international programs such as ALFA, FP7, CYTED, OAS, OEI, IDB, etc.) under the guidance of the Main Organizer of the respective research community. - Financing the participation of the research community main organizer and / or Coordinator in at least one annual meeting at a congress of significance in their specialty, which promotes networking.
- CLARA will request the support from the National Research and Education Networks for the communities that result selected in this program in order to offer them access, in accordance with the availableness of those networks, to the video conferencing services for the development of regular activities such as workshops, information days virtual and remote seminars, these activities may be recorded for later use.
- Developing collaborative applications tailored to their needs, such as wikis, blogs, calendars, document sharing repositories, etc.
- CLARA Technical Consultancy, for one year, in the use of its services and applications for meeting of the goals that the community is proposed in this period.
Communities that accept to apply for these facilities and comply with the requirements for its eligibility may invite researchers from the European Community and other countries integrated through the Internet Advanced Networks to join in them. Submissions must follow the guidelines listed below.
Research communities COMCLARA2010 convened for the program must belong to one of the following research areas: Eligibility Requirements
The eligibility requirements are:
- Having a themed community consisting of researchers from institutions members of National Research and Education Networks (NREN) associated with CLARA (are the NREN from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Chile, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Panama, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela).
- Have members in at least seven Latin American countries, of which at least two shall be the subregion of Central America and Mexico (Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica and Panama), two of the subregion Pacific South America (Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Chile) and two Atlantic Subregion of South America (Venezuela, Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina).
- Have a work plan to be in the next 12 months and preferably have a work already in progress.
- Having a leading researcher, advisor and convener, which we call "Home Organizer", recognized by community members belonging to the institutions of national networks of research and education associated with CLARA (see the website of its National Network, whose list is at: http://www.redclara.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=33&Itemid=217
The call to apply for theCOMCLARA2010 programme will be open on Monday, February 1st, 2010, finding it including format to complete, available HERE. The call will end on Friday 9th April 2010. Schedule
The Program Committee, appointed by the Board of CLARA, will accept a total of eight proposals that meet the requirements and the complete and accurate filling of the nomination form. period of query response from applicants. April 9th: Closure of receiving applications. April 16th: Publication of the results of the competition and the start of the CLARA network communications with the communities chosen for the implementation of measures envisaged by them in their program application. Application Guidelines Applications should be made, using the form linked HERE. The proposals that do not include all information requested on the form will not be considered. The Program Committee will confidentially use the information given in the format for specifying, in accordance with the respective community representatives, the timing of its activities in the first twelve months following the incorporation of the community in the program. The proposer and supports the format should be the Main Organizer of the community, hereafter, will be the community's official interlocutor with CLARA. CLARA may continue, subject to availability of funds, supporting the development of selected communities beyond the year committed to COMCLARA2010 Program, for which the community will be required to report on progress CLARA their work during the first year their participation in the program.
